Holding an opponent under 20 points is commonplace for some programs but not
the case recently at Indiana. So giving up 17 in a seven point win Saturday
night over Indiana State at Memorial Stadium might be considered a small step
for this Hoosier program that ranked last in most conference defensive
categories in 2011.

"Our defense needs to be better but they forced a couple sacks, had a couple
turnovers," said head coach Kevin Wilson about the season opening victory. "It's a decent start and would like those guys to continue to play
better."
