QB race winding down
AUBURN -- The Tigers' quarterback race, such as it is, will extend at least into next week.
Still, coach Gene Chizik hinted Saturday that the end is near.
A disappointing day on the practice field Friday prompted Chizik to rail against his quarterbacks as a group. His tone was slightly different after Auburn's situational scrimmage Saturday, which gave sophomore Kiehl Frazier and freshman Jonathan Wallace a few chances to throw passes against a live defense.
"We got to see some things we wanted to see in situations," Chizik said. "They were better in that regard. No one's separated himself."
Frazier worked exclusively with the first-team offense while Wallace, in his first college season, handled most second- and third-team snaps. Junior Clint Moseley, who was expected to challenge for the starting job, again was held out of most drills because of a sore shoulder.
