Taylor seeking 'special' talents at wideout
AUBURN -- The Tigers will hold their first fall scrimmage Wednesday afternoon and nobody on the field will be more intrigued than Trooper Taylor.
Auburn's receivers coach is in thEmory Blake. A few returning players have earned at least faint praise during the past week - sophomore Trovon Reed and redshirt freshman Sammie Coates chief among them - but what happens in practice doesn't always translate well to Jordan-Hare Stadium.
That's why the scrimmage matters.
Judgment Day has arrived.
"It's going to be really big," Taylor said Tuesday afternoon. "Anytime we go in that stadium, we send a message. Tomorrow, I'll be backed off and seeing what they know. (Veterans) want the job. These young guys want them bad, too. There's been great competition."
