Battlefield (Haymarket, Va.) linebacker Nick Newman hadn't heard much from the West Virginia coaching staff until a week ago, but the junior wasted little time in making his way to Morgantown for a an up-close look at the football program.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound inside linebacker just began talking with lead recruiter cornerbacks coach Daron Roberts last week, but the pair quickly made plans to get Newman on campus.

"He said he liked my film and they all liked me," he said. "So we made the plan to come up and I loved it."
