Bulldogs find redemption
STARKVILLE, Miss., - Mississippi State was embarrassed three weeks ago after dropping a game to instate rival Ole Miss for the first time since 2009.
The 19th ranked Bulldogs were able to redeem themselves in a big way leading Thursday night's game from start to finish downing the Rebels 70-60 for their 13th consecutive home victory.
"After the game in Oxford, we just wanted to come out and make sure we didn't lose this game," said MSU senior point guard Dee Bost. "We heard everything from the fans."
The Bulldogs made sure a repeat performance was out of the question early. They began the game on an 8-0 run in the first three minutes of the game and never looked back improving Stansbury's home record against Ole Miss to 13-1.
"I was proud of how our kids came out from the get go," said MSU head coach Rick Stansbury We played really focused. I thought defensively we played with an edge."
State shot 45.9-percent for the game including nine 3-pointers. They also outrebounded the Rebels 38-33 and improved to 6-3 in league play and 19-5 overall.
