EAST LANSING - Jared McGaha knew people doubted him.
He knew that, after four years and only three starts, people were ready to define him as a high-quality reserve. Time to move on, invest in the players of the future.
He could have chosen to say things like, 'Whatever this team needs from me, I'll Do', or 'Whatever the coaches decide, I'll support it and be ready to go when called upon.'
But that's not what he said, and that's not what he told himself.
It was his time.
