Questions surrounding the offensive backfield are everywhere heading into this season but the biggest question the Beavers will have to answer is how do you replace all-world running back Jacquizz Rodgers? And with who? Not even Mike Riley knows how that will happen, but he feels fairly confident in that someone will step up and make plays out of the backfield. Granted it probably will not be just one person, as Quizz left huge shoes to fill, but rather the entire stable of running backs will more than likely contribute in one way or another.
Coach Riley will also have to replace his starting fullback as Will Darkins left the team prior to spring practice in order to focus on his studies as he entered his senior year. To top it all off, running back coach Reggie Davis took a position coaching tight ends with the San Francisco 49ers. In his place, Chris Brasfield was hired on after being a graduate assistant coach in Eugene. There will be plenty of questions in the backfield, hopefully there will be some answers.
