The state of Arizona has been exceptionally friendly to the Oregon Ducks this year. They have secured verbal commitments from three of the states most talented players Sam Kamp, Andre Yruretagoyena and Tyler Johnstone. Johnstone is rated as the states fifth best player and 133rd nationally by Rivals.com. Duck Sports Authority recently caught up with Johnstone to get his thoughts on the national championship game and check on the status of his commitment.
At 6-foot-6 and 260 pounds, Johnstone is the type of offensive lineman that the Ducks are going to need to continue to compete, not only in the Pac 12 but in the BCS as well. Johnstone has excellent length and plays with a bit of a nasty streak. He excels at downfield blocking and will certainly help the Ducks running game somewhere down the line. He hails from Chandler, AZ and DSA asked him if he was able to watch his future teammates in Glendale.
"Yeah, actually I was," Johnstone said. "My dad bought tickets back in May or something. I just kind of got lucky and it turned out to be Oregon, so that was cool. I was sitting in the upper level but it doesn't matter. I was in the house.
