Failed fake was costly for UF

For a moment, the call looked brilliant and calculated. After it failed, it reeked of desperation.
When dissecting Florida's failed fake punt in the second quarter of Saturday's meltdown in Tallahassee, a game in which the Gators lost to archrival Florida State 31-7, there are two factors to consider: why didn't it work, and why did Florida try it?
The former is easily answered.
