Notebook: Double Duty For Rainey?
If Chris Rainey, Florida's starting slot receiver until his Sept. 14 arrest, is given the go ahead by Gator head coach Urban Meyer to play Saturday against Georgia, he very well could see time at tailback.
"Certainly the possibility exists for that because of injuries," Florida offensive coordinator Steve Addazio said. "Chris is a guy that's very talented, that's versatile, that can do a lot of things.
He does give you some versatility for sure in the event he's ready to go."
According to Florida quarterback John Brantley, Rainey has split time between receiver and tailback since rejoining the team last week following a lengthy suspension. Addazio doesn't think the transition to tailback, a position Rainey played for two seasons before switching to receiver in the spring, will be difficult.
