Jenks' Future is as Bright as the Past
MOORE, Okla. - Without Kendal Thompson the chances of Moore (Okla.) Southmoore avenging their loss in the state semi-finals to Sooner state superpower Jenks were always slight but with the Trojans possessing a talented group of young prospects who are starting to make a name for themselves, the final score of 70-21 shouldn't shock anyone.
What also shouldn't surprise anyone is that the Allan Trimble's bunch has again reloaded and though usual suspects Sawyer Kollmorgen and Trent Martin did nothing to hurt their solid reputations on the field and the absence of Martin's fellow Tulsa commitment Zack Langer was a surprising storyline.
While no one expected Langer to play, those filling his vacancy became the story of the game as Trey'Vonne Barre and Alex Ross combined for roughly 300-yards of total offense and four touchdowns on the day.
Ross, a junior, has burst onto the scene in the past few months starring first as a defensive end but with the injury to Langer has taken on the role of the Trojans power back and his four scores on Thursday did nothing to say it's a role he shouldn't be part of.
