Bulldogs finding a way to win
Mississippi State may not have had its best performance of the season this past Saturday but the Bulldogs found a way to win in the end.
MSU kicked five field goals and forced three UAB turnovers to claim a 29-24 homecoming victory and earned their sixth victory of the season to become bowl eligible.
"We did enough things to win that football game," said MSU head coach Dan Mullen. "We have a lot of things that we have to do before next week in all three phases to find a way to win next week's game. We have a Kentucky team coming in that's very explosive on offense. They have a lot of weapons who have scored a lot of points. They outgained Georgia but didn't come away with the win. We're going to have to get all those things cleaned up and fixed before next week."
The Bulldogs entered Saturday's game ranked in the Top 25 for the first time since 2001 and Mullen was pleased to see his team was able to battle through the attention their on the field success has raised.
