During the summer months, there was arguably no other player in the state of Oklahoma that had helped his stock more than Tulsa Edison TE John-Philip Hughes. The Tulsa product had big performances at each of his camp stops and had been the difference maker in the Eagles' 40-7 win over McLain in week one. But halfway through the first quarter of Edison's game with rival Memorial, Hughes suffered what he calls a "speedbump" in his senior season.
