Keliikipi: We are a tribe
Football fans need something to worry about, and with the 2010 Oregon defense the choices are limited. If one were to choose, it would have to be an area of lesser strength rather than an actual weakness. An area of concern could be depth on the interior line.
In 2009, Oregon fans were concerned about the entire defensive line, but after the first game of the season, it was clear Jerry Azzinaro had elevated his unit to a higher level of play than prior to his arrival. So far in the 2010 fall camp, there is no evidence of depth issue, and the emergence of redshirt freshman Wade Keliikipi is part of the reason.
Oregon head coach Chip Kelly has taken notice.
"Wade is doing a great job," said Kelly." He is a kid that unfortunately last year he hurt his shoulder so he got operated on last fall so he would be ready for spring ball. We thought he played really well for us in the spring."
Keliikipi's progress did not stop there. This fall he is gaining notice from his teammates as well.
