Before taking a phone call to discuss the possible future of his AAU organization's relationship with Kansas State, Miami Tropics president Art Alverez was busy reflecting on its past. The Florida-area basketball guru looked on from the sideline as one of his former players, Denis Clemente, worked out in an empty Miami gym, and while the graduated K-State point guard consumed his sightlines during the phone call, it was the name of a current high school star, Angel Rodriguez, that was on his lips.
