Vols fill need with Posey commitment
Athens, Ga. -- Offensive line might still be a need for Tennessee in the 2011 recruiting class, but it's not quite as glaring as it was just a day ago. Alan Posey became the Vols' second commitment of the current class this morning, slipping on a Tennessee hat and calling head coach Derek Dooley to inform him of his intention to play his college football in Knoxville.
Posey (6-foot-6, 305 pounds) from Athens, Ga., stepped up to the podium early this morning in front of family, teammates and coaches and picked the Vols over fellow finalist Clemson. Other schools in the running were Maryland, Georgia Tech and Cincinnati, but Posey made it clear that he feels he's found a perfect fit with Tennessee.
"I've been up there three times this year and every time I went I just came back feeling better about the situation there," Posey said. "I like the coaching staff there a lot, coach Dooley is a great guy and the environment just feels like a family.
