Chickillo ready for the challenge
Tampa (Fla.) junior defensive end Anthony Chickillo's words are like a breath of fresh air to college coaches nationwide.
While many high school prospects rate their favorite schools by the number of times a starting job is guaranteed by a head coach, Chickillo isn't looking for promises.
Attending the Army National Underclassmen Combine last January, Chickillo made a name for himself by dominating an event loaded with top offensive line talent. Ohio, Texas, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Louisiana and Florida all represented proudly, while Chickillo called out each individually.
In late June, the 6-foot-3, 225-pound All Army-Combine selection will get a chance to compete in another nationally renown event. Traveling to Los Angeles to participate in USC's Rising Stars Camp, Chickillo will compete against some of the top players on the West Coast, East Coast and part in between.
