Fannin sets high goals for senior season
Mario Fannin has been a do-it-all kind of player on Auburn's offense. Other than lineman and quarterback, he's played every position at least once in the last three years.
In his final season on the Plains, Fannin will be practicing as a traditional tailback in the next three weeks. Offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn said he wants players to focus on one position this spring before learning another.
For Fannin, the starting tailback job is something he's been waiting for since he arrived in 2006.
"It's a blessing to be given this opportunity," Fannin said. "As a kid growing up you dream of being that guy. At Auburn, you've got such an impressive history with guys like Ben Tate, Carnell Williams and Ronnie Brown playing that position. I've always looked up to them, and I'm blessed to have a chance to follow in their footsteps."
