Huff is Mr. Versatile
In a recent radio interview, Duck Sports Authority was asked to rank the Oregon running backs in the class of 2010. Despite knowing Josh Huff had been recruited as a wide receiver by Scott Frost, DSA answered defiantly and contrary to the star system "Josh Huff, Dontae Williams, Lache Seastrunk." The host didn't catch that Huff was recruited as a wide receiver, but was startled that Seastrunk wasn't at the top of the list. In the end, it was agreed everybody has their opinion. A few days later, DSA asked Oregon running backs coach Gary Campbell what he thought.
"(Tight Ends/Special Teams coach) Tom Osborne was asking me last night of all the highlight clips of the recruits who did I like the best," Campbell said. "I told him the guy that looked best to me was Huff. He did some pretty remarkable things with the ball in his hands."
Aside from up front in the trenches, Huff played the whole offense for Nimitz High School in Aldine, Texas. Beginning at quarterback as a freshman, the nations' #7 All-purpose back began the circle. Moving to wide receiver as a sophomore and running back as a junior, he then lined up behind center again for his final year. When he gets to Eugene, he is slated to play for Frost, likely at TZR.
