Thompson Wastes Little Time
Through the summer as Moore (Okla.) Southmoore's Kendal Thompson started to emerge as a highly-recruited quarterback there was little talk of his relationship with the University of Oklahoma. A relationship that stemmed through his fan-following as well as his father's time as a Sooner player.
The 6-foot-2, 180-pound signal-caller rarely talked about his affection for the school but after he picked up his offer from the Sooners did little to hide his feelings for the program. And now that he has committed there is even less room to be coy about his thoughts on the Sooners.
Thompson says he never intended to give people the impression he wasn't very serious about Oklahoma but was simply making sure he took care of what was best for him.
"I wasn't really downplaying the offer; being a fan when you are being recruited, well you can't be a fan. You have to look out for what is best for you," Thompson explained. "I wasn't sure at that point what the coaching staff thought about me. As a player I thought I could help the team. They think that as well, from the meeting and what they told me."
